End of the Century
by Cathy Carey
This agave stalk, also called a century plant, produced a stalk at the end of it's time, and the stalk lasted for almost three years. In that time all kinds of owls, crows, hummingbirds and bees made a home in it and used it for an observation post! As it started to fall, I painted this image of it, showing it releasing all of its life force into the universe to become a part of the swirling energy of life in everything else.
