Walled Garden

I painted this from a favorite pastel I did a few years back called "Walled Garden of Ventimiglia". I sold it almost as soon as I finished it and felt I had more to say on the subject. In this oil painting, I explored in paint the textures and patterns I originated in pastel, and then took it further through the layering ability of oil. I was very taken with the design of this hillside garden with the winding paths and stairs, and the lush haven it created. A Roma black matte frame is available for $150.
