Cooper's Hawk - Broken Hill Trail

This began from sketches I did at Torrey Pines and from drawing of a Coppers Hawk I did from photos taken by my friend Joyce Stark. I love the texture of foliage and patterns of vegetation in the Torrey Pines bluffs. The shape of the eroded cliff makes me think of a huge ocean beast coming up from the sea to take a bite out of the delicious coastline. I love the way the beautiful ocean air drifts by and stirs up all the sage scents and sends the rusty dust buzzing with summertime time bees.
