Summer Breeze

This is another painting in my series of Matisse Windows - inspired by Matisse and the expressive colorist Fauve painters. I used the watermelons from a Matisse painting and paired them with a pineapple, the traditional icon of hospitality in Virginia. All the images including the potted geranium, mean summertime to me, and the warm colors and blowing curtain remind me of wonderful summer mornings in Virginia (before it gets too humid).
