Spirit of the Mesa

I saw this little adobe church when I took the train from Solona Beach CA to Santa Fe NM. It has such great presence, I love painting it! It is in a setting where the table top mesas are dramatically placed all in a row, beautifully created by erosion. The undulating hills and canyons, and winding Rio Grande make this such an interesting area to paint. I feel my spirit soar when I am in the wide open lands of the southwest.
